HACK FOR PINK

Develop a technology solution that promotes and/or enhances global awareness about breast cancer.

ELC has organized this virtual event to rally the global tech community to help in the journey to end breast cancer. We invite participants from all over the world to engage in this global hackathon. It is open to everyone including university students, technology professionals and anyone interested in joining a team or contributing.

We are part of the global Hackathon community that embraces collaboration across borders and cultures to bring about new ideas and innovations. The ELC Virtual Hackathon is an international mass collaboration focused on finding breast cancer solutions. We believe outside perspectives and ideas can help find new, interesting and novel approaches to solve problems, improve lives and ultimately move us closer to finding a cure. All are welcome to join or create a team. The common thread among participants is that you are interested in technology, helping science, you are creative, and you want to solve problems. Hundreds of people from all over the globe participated in the 2019 ELC Hackathon in New York City but we are excited about the event moving online and growing our global participation.

Why #HackForPink?

How would you like to develop a technology solution that promotes and/or enhances the general welfare of millions of women around the world? Or develop an innovative technology seed that can catapult a breaking idea in the fight against breast cancer forever?

Well, here is your chance to make a difference.

Impact – Every 15 seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and is increasing, particularly in developing countries where the majority of cases are diagnosed in late stages.

Social Responsibility – Create awareness through technology for important causes such as The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign.

Teamwork – Radical innovation can occur when teams of different backgrounds and abilities join forces to achieve a common goal.

Why Participate?

  • Expand your network of peers and industry professionals.
  • Use your technical and problem-solving skills, while having fun and winning prizes.
  • Join a global community looking to abolish breast cancer.
  • Help us create a brighter cancer-free future for your community and around the world.

Estée Lauder’s focus this year is on creating awareness and helping end breast cancer.
